How to Cook

Australian Wagyu ribeye is best pan-seared over high heat.

Let your ribeye sit out at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking so the heat penetrates the steak more evenly. Then, pat your steak dry and season generously with salt and pepper. Sear your steak on a cast-iron skillet over high heat for 3-4 minutes per side, using a thermometer to check for your desired doneness.

We recommend medium-rare for Australian Wagyu at Don Peter’s Carniceria, which is 130° to 135°F.

What is your doubt?

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Australian Wagyu ribeye better than Japanese Wagyu?

It depends on your flavor and texture preferences. Japanese Wagyu is very rich and buttery due to high marbling. While it still has high marbling, Australian Wagyu is less intense than Japanese Wagyu and has a more robust beefy flavor.

How do I season Australian Wagyu?

Because simple is best with Australian Wagyu, all you’ll need to do is season your ribeye with high-quality salt and pepper on both sides. This allows its natural flavors to shine through without diminishing taste or texture.

What is the best way to thaw frozen Wagyu?

The best way to thaw frozen Wagyu is in the refrigerator overnight. It keeps the meat at a safe temperature and preserves its quality. A cold water bath for 30 to 45 minutes also works well.
